Exploring ecology through a contemporary art practice

Edaphic Plant Art

Can a contemporary art practice be used as a tool to help us understand our natural world and our place within it?

Conventional scientific practice focuses heavily on a rational, thinking approach to studying soil and plants, using instruments to record and observe.

I am interested in the possibility of developing a more intuitive, sensory understanding of spontaneous plants and the soil they grow in through a process of slowing down, sensing, noticing, and tuning-in to the plants in their actual environments.
